Acrylic Painting for Fun

Join me for a relaxed painting session with an emphasis on having fun, experimenting and enjoying the process alongside like minded people.

Think a table full of flowers from my mum's garden, quirky op-shop vases and little treasures, along with a few painting exercises to help you loosen up, get creative and enjoy making art together.

The class is open to all skill levels. It doesn't matter if you've never picked up a paintbrush before!

I love painting in a naive, playful style, so we'll explore fun exercises, different techniques and get a little experimental. There's no pressure to create a masterpiece. It's all about having fun and enjoying the process.

This class is designed for adults. Attendees aged 13+ are welcome when accompanied by a supervising adult who also holds a ticket.

What to expect:

A relaxed introduction: The class will be led by Crystal Knight. Crystal has a Fine Art degree, has worked in art supply shops for over 10 years and is OBSESSED with talking about art.

A little inspiration: An inspiration board featuring artists and artwork that Crystal loves.

Materials & tips: A brief introduction to materials, along with some helpful tips and tricks. There are no silly questions, so ask away! Each participant will also receive a little booklet to take home.

Warm-up activities: Fun, experimental painting exercises designed to help you loosen up and get creative.

Time to play: We'll finish with some longer, self-directed painting time. Choose a few things from the table that catch your eye and have fun creating!

What's Included

• A little information booklet to take home.
• All painting materials, including a mix of student and professional-quality paints to try.
• A variety of surfaces to experiment with, including paper, card and canvas board.

Frames aren't included, but I'm happy to share some recommendations if you'd like to frame your finished artwork.

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear?

Acrylic paint can stain clothes, and you'll have much more fun if you're not worrying about getting paint on yourself! Wear something you're happy to get a little messy in, or bring an apron.

Where can I park?

Parking directly outside the studio is generally reserved for customers of the neighbouring chocolate shop throughout the day. I've included a map showing the side street where I usually park. (Patricia Ave)
